About Michael Cawood

Michael is a multi-award winning Animation Director with a broad skill set. He's been working in animation for over a decade in Film, Commercials, Games, Short Films and Web TV. Michael has dedicated himself to addressing the biggest need on each project at any given time. Where possible he'll animate, but more often his time is spent supervising, mentoring, creating previs and shot layouts, refining the animation pipeline, finding rigging problems and addressing story, edit, design and filmmaking issues.

Devils, Angels & Dating

In 2006 Michael Cawood started developing a film called 'Devils, Angels and Dating'. The project attracted hundreds of artists and animators and he formed an online community to collaborate on the project. Since it's completion in 2012, it has attracted over a million views on YouTube a good number of festival screenings, an Award for Best Animated Short Film, another for Animation, a Nomination for 'Best in Festival' and the Orson Welles Award. Logline: Devil wants Cupid's job, but a battle for Death's affections has cosmic ramifications below the Heavens.

Synopsis: Cupid, Devil and a rather sexy young female judge, jury and executioner in the form of Death gather in the After Life War Room to attend to their daily routine of manipulating our lives down on Earth with modern techniques that would put our internet dating generation to shame. Each of them, reluctantly compelled to play out their role in the game of love and life in order to maintain the balance. There's an unspoken attraction in the room and their true contradictory personalities are gradually revealed to each other, when someone gets a bright idea and re-purposes their high tech weapons to turn the tide of war and flip everything on it's head. This is a love triangle with cosmic repercussions!
